Our Story and Our Mission
OUR STORY
Abilities was founded in 2009 by Tami Johnson (founder/executive director) who's oldest son, Matthew, has Down Syndrome. She saw a need for a program for him after he graduated high school, and wanted to create Abilities to meet the needs for him, and others in the community.
Our non profit started as a thrift store, but quickly we realized that we needed to expand and provide medicaid waiver services, so we received our 501c3 to be able to do so.
